mishmash writes "The Times of London is reporting a proposal for a massive government database holding details of all phone calls, emails, and time spent on the Internet. This is to be justified as being 'part of the fight against crime and terrorism.' Quoting: 'Internet service providers and telecoms companies would hand over the records to the Home Office under plans put forward by officials.' If you want to write to representatives to let them know your views, contact details are available at Write to Them." UK telecoms are already required to keep records of phone calls and text messages for 12 months, accessible by subpoena; the requirement is already slated to expand to records of Internet usage, emails, and VoIP. This new proposal aims to centralize all that information in a single database in the Home Office.

"You've Made Me So Very Happy" is a single written by Brenda Holloway, Patrice Holloway, Frank Wilson and Berry Gordy and released first as a single in 1967 by Brenda Holloway on the Tamla label. The song was later a huge hit for jazz-rock band Blood, Sweat & Tears two years later.

Overview

Recording

By 1967, Brenda Holloway had been recording for Motown Records since 1964 and had struggled with Berry Gordy over control of her music, alleging that Gordy had forced her to sing "leftover tracks" by Mary Wells after the Motown singer left the label in 1964 including modest hits "When I'm Gone" and "Operator". Holloway was planning to release her long-awaited second album, Hurtin' & Cryin, which had released "Just Look What You've Done" as the leading track but for unknown reasons, the record was eventually shelved. Holloway recorded this song, which she co-wrote with sister Patrice with music provided by Frank Wilson and additional help from Gordy himself, ironically after a breakup with a former boyfriend.
