right First version of Original DoggyRide is a registered trademark brand for the first bicycle trailer designed specifically for dogs DoggyRide website by Dutch Dog Design, located in Redmond, Washington and Bunnik, Netherlands. It was introduced in 2003 in the Netherlands and quickly acquired market dominance to make DoggyRide a genericized trademark in the Dutch language. In 2004 a conversion kit to convert the bicycle trailer to make a dog stroller. Over the years the company introduced the product in other European countries and started selling them in North America in 2006. Dutch Dog Design is a member of the American Pet Products Manufacturers Association. Over the years they made several upgrades to the Original model and in 2007 it introduced to more models, the Mini for smaller pooches and a luxury model called the Novel. For the 2009 models they made changes to comply with both the United States ASTM International and the German and with European Union accepted TUV safety standards.
