Århus N

Århus N is a district in the city of Aarhus, consisting of Ris skov, Christianbjerg, Trøjborg, and Marienlund. Århus N is located north of the city centre and therefor the name Århus Nord (lit. English, "Aarhus North").

Many of the neighborhoods in the district was once seperated small towns and villages, but developed and grow through the industrial evolutuion and later on grow together wit the rest of Aarhus.

Quarters and areas

Christianbjerg

StorCenter Nord Christianbjerg is one of Aarhus's old suburbs. Developed in the begining of the nineteen hundred as a small town, but firts really developed in the 30s and 40s. There was build a lot of houses and apartments and several urban squares has given Christianbjerg it's own structure. Today, the area has around 22.00 inhabitants, and really become a important part of the city, with a computer college, the just expanded shopping centre StorCenter Nord and a lot of students living in the area, just next to the University.

Trøjborg

Trøjborg is located north of Århus C and has around 10.000 inhabitants. There live many college students in Trøjborg, but with it's short distance to City, and the ocean it is very atractive. It is allmost like an independent town in the city, with it's strong shopping and cafe life. There is about one hundred stores, a cinema, grocery and fruit markets and it's own shopping centre. From 2001 to 2006 Trøjborg has been through an modernisation, with wider sidewalks and reconstruction of urban spaces.

Marienlund and Ris Skov

The Beach Marienlund is the notheren tip of Trøjborg around the very bussy junction, Grenaavej, Nordre Ringgade and Dronning Magrethesvej. It is mostly single houses crowded together. Marienlund is a also the name of a terminus for several bus lines going around and trhough City.

Riis Skov is located far east in Århus Nord and is one big wood in the midle of the city. It is sorunded by city on north, west and south and the Bay of Aarhus on the east. It is one of Aarhus import landmarks and is very atractive for tourist's ass well as the people in Aarhus. Along the coast there is an atractive beach seperated from the woods by the regional railroad tracks.
