Czeslaw Ambroziewicz

Czeslaw Ambroziewicz ( Chester Ambrose) was a Polish-American immigrant who came to the United States of America at the turn of the century to begin a new life. Patriarch of the “Ambrose Clan” of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania, a borough in Allegheny County, just outside Pittsburg, PA., he married Sophia Schultz and was the father of 5 sons; Walter, Stanley, Bernard, Henry and Chester.

The Polish name “Ambroziewicz” was changed to the Americanized version of “Ambrose” upon Chester’s arrival to States. From a family of "old world" craftsmen by trade, he became a valueable member of the Westinghouse team in his early years. His character and quality as a man of many talents has been passed on to several generations of the “Ambrose Clan” that now stretches Coast to Coast.

His 5 boys have set themselves apart as members of the “Greatest Generation” with their selfless service to their country during the conflict of World War II, with Henry giving the ultimate sacrifice of his life while serving oversea on the battlefield.

Though Czeslaw Ambroziewicz has left us, his memory and legacy continues today in the “Clan” he and his bride Sophia began so long ago.
