Defensive Indifference

In baseball, Defensive Indifference (abbreviated DI) is credited when a baserunner steals a base, but the catcher does not throw. This usually occurs in the last inning if the defensive team has a significant lead. The main reason is in case of a wild throw by the catcher, he wants to keep the runner on the base he stole. The baserunner is not credited with a stolen base.
