Effex

Effex (born June 19, 1991), better known as Joshua Boyer, is a Canadian beatboxer who was born in Kingston, Ontario. Effex, currently resides in Bowmanville, Ontario. He began beatboxing in late 2005, after realizing that musical instruments were too hard to play. He actually got inspired to start making instrumental sounds with his mouth after listening to some Daft Punk and after seeing a beatboxing video while searching the net. Josh's friend, Matthew Small also helped Josh learn how to beatbox by teaching him how to hum and beatbox at the same time.

Josh focuses on beatboxing techniques such as Drum and bass, Electronic/Techno, and talking while performing. He is going to perform at Bowmanville High School (Which is the school he currently attends.) on May 14, 2008. He will be performing in the hallway and foyer/lobby.

Effex prefers to make his own songs rather than listen and company another artists. He prefers this because it allowes him some "Flexibility" on each song, meaning that he can add or cut certain instruments at any time during the song.
