The Gentle Woods are a deciduous forest located in and near Monmouth and Independence, Oregon, at 44'51 N and 123'12 W along Ash Creek north of the cities.

Details

The Gentle Woods are mostly hardwood trees such as ash and oak, with softwoods mixed in. They cover about 100 acres around Ash Creek, from Gentle Woods Park in Monmouth, Oregon to where the Willamette River and Ash Creek meet.

A trail called the Gentle Woods Trail has been proposed to link Monmouth and Independence through this wild area.
