Julius R. Nasso

Julius R. Nasso (born 1953) is the an American film producer. He is best known for producing many films starring Steven Seagal, who himself produced alongside Nasso. In many of Seagal's movies released during the 1990s, they'd be listed as A Seagal/Nasso Production.

Before entering the film business, Nasso was a pharmacist, and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. He founded the Universal Marine Medical Supply Company, but left the pharmaceutical business toward the end of the 1980s to pursue a career in Hollywood.

By the end of the 1990s, as Seagal's star power fell, much of Nasso's film career fell with it. By 2002, Nasso seemingly hit rock bottom when he, along with members of the Gambino crime family whom he had connections to, was convicted of extortion with Seagal as their target. He served a prison term, and was released in summer 2005. Needless to say, these charges triggered a falling-out between Seagal and Nasso, and they no longer work on any projects together.
