"Words Get In The Way" is the third single released by the American band Miami Sound Machine leaded by Gloria Estefan on their second English language but ninth studio album overall Primitive Love. The song is a ballad and became the most successful song of the album.

Song history

This song is a ballad and it's completely different than the past singles released by the Miami Sound Machine. While the band used to release commercially songs with a more celebrative or party mood, this song has a more romantic and sentimental mood, that will marked at Estefan's career throughout the years, becoming her a crooner with most of the upcoming ballads.

This song so far is the most successful single of the album, was the first song for the band and for this album to reach the Top 5, it also became a Top Ten in another secondary charts, reaching the number-one at the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks, being the first number-one for the band. Despite the success made it on the American market, the song was a failure in comparison to the other singles released, reaching only in some countries the Top 20 and in another almost the Top 40.

The song was re-recorded by the band's desire to captivate the attention of the Latin audience, recording the song in Spanish language naming the song "No Me Vuelvo A Enamorar" (I Won't Fall In Love Again). Though the song has differente lyrics in both languages, some way has the same sense, however the meaning of the titles in two languages doesn't gave the same conception. The song entered to the "Hot Latin Songs" at the Top 20, becoming the band's first entrance to the chart. This version of the song was included only at the single, but later was included at Estefan's first compilation Exitos de Gloria Estefan and Oye Mi Canto!: Los Grandes Exitos.
