Palm TX ‘Mad Digitizer’ Problem Solved! Palm Powerup’s PowerDiGi…
Dmitry Grinberg , Webmaster and programmer of Palm Powerups , has just made me the happiest Cat in the entire world. I was browsing one of the Palm forums I frequent, and I saw there was a new response to the post I had written about my TX’s Mad Digitizer Syndrome. I didn’t have much hope, already resigning myself to either buying a new Palm TX. Or maybe joining the ‘Dark Side’ and purchasing a Dell Axim X51v Pocket PC. Especially after the Palm tech support fiasco. I didn’t have much hope to what this person had to say. It was a simple message recommending I try PowerDigi , and that it would help. I had tried other software solution to my digitizer problem and either they weren’t made for a 320 x 480 screen or they just didn’t work. I posted back that I would give it a try, but I wasn’t gonna hold my breath. I popped over to Palm Powerups , and checked what PowerDiGi was all about. The description was fairly short and to the point. It read: PowerDiGi Calibration? Not a problem… PowerDiGi fixes a very common problem with Palm devices with 320×480 screens - digitizer drift. When you tap in one place, and it registers in another, and PalmOS’s calibration is of no use, PowerDiGi will help. No matter how much or how unusually your digitizer is malfunctioning PowerDiGi will make it work. For the most severe cases calibration can include up to 70(!) points, and restore normal operation. I downloaded it, installed it, and decided to use the slowest and most accurate calibration. I had to tap the screen 70+ times, it took a few minutes, but when I was done… It worked perfect. My Palm TX worked perfectly. The digitizer was perfectly accurate. Instead of paying $300+ for a new PDA, all I have to do now is shell out $10.95 USD to Dmitry for his wonderful program. If you have a Palm TX, T5 or T3 with ‘Mad Digitizer Syndrome’, download PowerDiGi and give it a try. Breathe life back into your PDA, you won’t be disappointed! Be sure to check out all of Dmitry’s other great programs at Palm Powerups . If PowerDiGi fixed your palm, leave a comment. And as always, email me at lynxsilver@gmail.com with your questions or comments, I’m always glad to hear from anyone.
