Charles James Campbell

Charles James Campbell (November 6 1819April 17 1906) was a Scottish-born merchant and political figure in Nova Scotia, Canada. He represented Victoria in the Canadian House of Commons from 1874 to 1875, from 1876 to 1878 and from 1882 to 1887 as a Conservative member.

He was born on the Isle of Skye, the son of John Campbell and Isabella McRae, and came to Nova Scotia in 1831. In 1843, Campbell married Eliza Jane Ingraham. He owned the New Campbell Coal Mines. He was named a justice of the peace for Cape Breton County in 1851 and county coroner in 1857. Campbell was also lieutenant-colonel for the county militia.

Christian August Friedrich Garcke (October 25, 1819 - January 10, 1904) was a German botanist who was a native of Bräunrode, Saxony-Anhalt.

In 1865 he was appointed curator at the Royal Botanical Museum in Berlin, and in 1871 became an associate professor specializing in pharmacognosy. He was author of the popular Illustrierte Flora von Deutschland (Illustrated Flora of Germany), which was published over several editions. From 1867 to 1882 he was editor of the journal Linnæa.

Andreas D. Miaoulis (Greek: Ανδρέας Δ. Μιαούλης, 1819 - 1887) was a Greek politician. He was the son of Dimitrios Miaoulos and relative of the navy leader during the Greek War of Independence Andreas Miaoulis from the historic Hydrian family of Miaoulis.

George Robert Armstrong (August 1, 1819-April 20, 1896) was a pioneer mayor of Omaha, Nebraska. He served as the interm Mayor of Omaha from 1858 to 1859 after Andrew Jackson Poppleton resigned, and was elected in 1861, only to resign in 1862. "Mayors of Omaha", Omaha Public Library. Moses Clark White ( Chinese: 懷德; July 24 1819 - October 24 1900) was an American Methodist pioneer missionary in China.

Moses Clark White was born in Paris, Oneida County, New York on July 24, 1819. From 1842 to 1845, White was studying in Wesleyan Class. After graduation, White spent two years in Yale studying medicine and theology, and sometimes preached in the neighboring town of Milford. On March 13 1847, White married Jane Isabel Atwater of Homer, who came from Cortland County, New York and was then a teacher in the Sabbath School in Rochester, N.Y.
