Thomas Umfrey Wells (6 February 1927 – 2001) was a New Zealand-born cricketer who played first-class cricket in England in the early 1950s. All but one of his appearances came for Cambridge University, but he also played one match for Worcestershire in 1950.

He was born on 23 September 1927 and educated at Whitgift School and Christ's College, Cambridge Who's Who1992 “(London, A & C Black ISBN 0713635142) before embarking on an ecclesiastical career with a curacy at Boston, Lincolnshire after which he was Vicar of Knaresborough Crockford's clerical directory, 1995” (Lambeth,Church House ISBN 0715180886). Following this he was Vicar of St Wilfred’s,Harrogate Church web-site and then (his final appointment before elevation to the Episcopate) Rural Dean of the area. In retirement he continues to serve the Church as an Assistant Bishop within the Diocese of Chichester.

Benjamin F. "Tex" Logan, Jr. (1927) is an American electrical engineer and fiddler.

Born in Coahoma, Texas, he earned a B.Sc. in electrical engineering at Texas Technical University in Lubbock, studied for a B.Sc. in engineering at Massachussetts Institute of Technology (1946-51), and completing a M.Sc. (1956). He then moved to New Jersey where he joined Bell Labs (1956) and started his doctoral studies at Columbia University where he eventually got a Ph.D. in electrical engineering on the dissertation Properties of high-pass signals (1965). He joined in the communication theory department at Bell Labs (1956) where he among other, demonstrated the use of computer simulation to the study of reverberation in digital audio, joint work with Manfred R. Schroeder who later pioneered MP3 audio (1961). He was with the mathematics center (1963-93) where he contributed to the theory of signal (electrical engineering).

Gordon Bowman

Gordon Bowman (born February 10, 1927) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Melbourne and Hawthorn in the VFL.

Bowman, originally from East Malvern, was a member of Melbourne's 1948 premiership team as a half forward flanker. He joined a struggling Hawthorn side in 1950 and remained with the club until the end of the 1951 season.

Ahmed Abdul-Malik(Born January 30, 1927 in Brooklyn; died October 2, 1993 in Long Branch, New Jersey) was a jazz bassist and oud player of Sudanese descent. He is noted for integrating Mideastern and North African music styles in his jazz music. He served as bassist for Art Blakey, Randy Weston, and Thelonious Monk among others. As an oud player he did a tour of South America for the United States Department of State and performed at an African jazz festival in Morocco.
