Thomas Oikonomou

Thomas Oikonomou (Greek: Θωμάς Οικονόμου, 1864 - 1927) was a Greek actor and one of the first modern Greeek directors.

Biography

Son of the writer Aristeidos Oikonomou, Oikonomou was born in Vienna, Austria in what was then a part of Austria-Hungary in 1864 and studied and bagen his career as an actor. He arrived in Greece in 1900-1901 and began as a professof at the Dramatic School the what was then Royal Theatre and (after the separation of Angelos Vlahos) as a director. He knew the young Marika Kotopouli who he acted together in a erotic part and became a protagonist of that company. In 1906, he left the Royal Theatre with Marika Kotopouli and worked together at Marika's father's company Dimitris Kotopoulis where he directed and presented the new productions at the Athenean theatre. His luck was crowned by the critics and a loud noise at failed receipts that made Oikonomou in theatrical productions and his works to collapse. From 1918 until 1922, he worked at the Athens Odeum as professor and journalist of the company. Between all students he taught and Dimitris Rontiris. His contribution at the Greek theatre as a director and a hypocrite as well an mainly from the student's spot thought he was fixed. He died in 1927.

Edward Missen

Edward Missen (February 2, 1875November 17, 1927) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed medium-pace bowler who played first-class cricket for Essex.

Missen made his first and only County Championship appearance almost 17 years after appearing for Cambridgeshire in the Minor Counties Championship in 1904. A middle order batsman alongside captain JWHT Douglas, Missen hit 8 runs in his first innings and 12 in his second.

Walter Van Rensselaer Berry (July 29, 1859 - 1927) was an American lawyer, diplomat, Francophile, and friend of several great writers.

Berry was born in Paris, a descendant of the Van Rensselaer family of New York. After attending St. Mark's School and Harvard, he took a law degree at Columbia University, practicing law in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Paris, where he pursued a career in international law and diplomacy. After serving as a judge at the International Tribunal of Egypt from 1908 to 1911, he settled in Paris for the remainder of his life and became a strong advocate of France, tirelessly promoting its cause in the United States when World War One broke out in 1914; he served as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Paris from 1916 to 1923. Benjamin Alvord, Jr. (May 15, 1860 - April 13, 1927) was an American soldier. He was the son of Benjamin Alvord, who was a scientist and soldier.

Alvord was born in Washington, DC and graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1882. He was assigned to the 20th Infantry Regiment.

Charles Gore Hay, 20th Earl of Erroll KT CB (7 February 1852-8 July 1927), known as Lord Hay until 1891, was a Scottish soldier and Conservative politician.

Erroll was the son of William Harry Hay, 19th Earl of Erroll, and his wife Eliza Amelia, daughter of General the Hon. Sir Charles Gore. He was an Honorary Major-General in the British Army and a Lieutenant-Colonel commanding the Royal Horse Guards. He succeeded his father in the earldom in 1891 and served in the Conservative administration of Arthur Balfour as a Lord-in-Waiting (government whip in the House of Lords) from 1903 to 1905. In 1901 he was made a Knight of the Thistle.
