Hiraldo (Sablon) "Chico" Ruiz (December 5, 1938 in Santo Domingo, Cuba - February 9, 1972 in San Diego, California), was a professional baseball player who played infielder in the Major Leagues from 1964-1971. He would play for the Cincinnati Reds and California Angels.

Harvey Swados (1920-1972) was born in Buffalo, New York, the son of a doctor. A graduate of the University of Michigan. Swados was a four year veteran of the Merchant Marine during World War II and published his first novel in 1955. Swados's 1959 essay for Esquire, "Why Resign from the Human Race?," has often been said to have inspired the formation of the Peace Corps.

Herbert Oxley Hopkins (6 July 189523 February 1972) was an Australian-born English cricketer who played 85 first-class matches between the wars. The bulk of these games were for Worcestershire and Oxford University, though he also appeared once for Harlequins. Through his career he played in a wide range of musical contexts. Late in his career this included a spell with Ginger Baker's Air Force.
