He has spent his entire career with Beijing Guoan, apart from a brief spell in Spain with Xerez CD during the 2003–04 season. He has also won two caps in 2000 with the Chinese national side. While at Xerez he hit the headlines after the club was payed to play him by a "personal sponsor" of the player.
