Considered as a leader pathfinder in modern Arabic philosophy. Best known with "The philosopher of authors and author of philosophers" as Abbas Mahmoud al-Akkad called him. Mahmoud adhered to logical positivism and adopted science interpretation with social motivations to reconcile the Arab tradition with modernism. Mahmoud defines the "Arab tradition" as the configuration of techniques by which our ancestors lived. And he viewed logical positivism as the spirit of " Modernism". Works

Jorge Carpio Nicolle ( June 26, 1908 – July 3, 1993) was a Guatemalan politician and newspaper publisher. He was the founder of the Unión del Centro Nacional (UCN) in 1984, and ran as the party's candidate for president in the elections of 1985 and 1990. He came in second in both elections. He was the director and editor of El Grafico, at one time one of Guatemala's largest newspapers. He also served as Guatemala's Ambassador to the United Nations. > He was assassinated in July 3, 1993, along with three other political leaders of the UCN, in the municipality of Chichicastenango, El Quiché. Surviving witnesses reported that the murders took place after the group was intercepted by members of a Guatemalan Civil Defense Patrol, a type of paramilitary unit under the control of the Army. > Carpio's first cousin, Ramiro de León Carpio, was later appointed President after the failed auto-coup by Jorge Serrano Elias. >

William Charles "Bill" Seddon ( 28 July 1901 — January 1993) was an English footballer. Born in Clapton, London, he played junior football in London before joining Gillingham as an amateur, and had an unsuccessful trial with Aston Villa before joining Arsenal in December 1924. Seddon played as a half back and was mainly a second-string player, he played over 200 Football Combination matches for Arsenal Reserves, eventually rising to captain as the side won five Combination titles in the 1920s.

Thomas Warnock Hyde Jr. ( 1963? - August 4, 1993) was the 17th known patient to receive assistance in suicide by Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Hyde, a landscaper who moved from California to Novi, Michigan, had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's Disease in 1992, about a year before his death.]] [http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/kevorkian/interviews/] At the time of his diagnosis, he was in the process of getting his life back together after serving time in prison and being convicted of a robbery. He had a daughter with his fiancee, Heidi Fernandez, in the summer of 1992. Hyde sought help from doctors after he noticed his muscles getting cold and falling off his motorcycle. He contacted Kevorkian in May 1993, and was interviewed by the pathologist in July, a month before Kevorkian helped Hyde end his life in the back of his 1968 Volkswagen Van in the parking lot behind Kevorkian's residence in Royal Oak. on August 4, 1993. Police later found Kevorkian with Hyde in his van at the thousand-acre park of Belle Isle in the Detroit River. At the time of his death, Hyde's speech was impared beyond comprehension, and he only had use of his left hand. Kevorkian was aquitted in court in 1994 after being charged with violating Michigan's law against assisted suicide.
