Victor Jorgensen
1945 works | aftermath of world war ii | american photographers | photographs | times squareVictor Jorgensen is a former Navy photo journalist who is probably most famous for taking the same picture of the VJ Kiss as Alfred Eisenstaedt. Eisenstaedt's better known photograph was published in LIFE magazine. By contrast, the Jorgensen photograph shows less of Times Square in the background and does not show the full body of either the sailor or the nurse.
