It lies in Peel Sound at the entrance of Prince of Wales Island's Young Bay, while Somerset Island's Four Rivers Bay is to the east. The larger Prescott Island is to the north.

It lies in the Parry Channel, southwest of Lowther Island, and northeast of Hamilton Island.

The Twin Islands are similarly shaped Arctic islands located east of Akimiski Island in James Bay on the southern end of Hudson Bay. The group includes North Twin and South Twin islands. They are part of the Qikiqtaaluk Region of the Canadian territory of Nunavut.

The Twin Island are an important breeding site for Canada Geese and Semipalmated Plovers. The most dominant waterfowl include Green-winged Teal, Lesser Scaup, Northern Pintail, and Oldsquaw. Dominant shorebirds include Dunlin and Purple Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper, Red-necked Phalarope, and Semipalmated Sandpipers. The islands are home to resident Willow Ptarmigans and Arctic Terns.

Rif (island)

Rif is a small, uninhabited, Dutch island in the Wadden Sea, lying between Ameland and Schiermonnikoog, north of Engelsmanplaat. It is one of the West Frisian Islands. The island currently has an area of less then 0.1 km². There are no breeding birds to be found, but it is popular as a high tide resting area, for birds as well as seals.

Holm of Houton

The Holm of Houton is one of the southern Orkney islands.

Geography
