Problems
Thunder Ridge has been known for its drug and alcohol problems and has drug searches often. Many students report hearing about drug use in Thunderridge. However violence hasn't been that much of an issue at Thunder Ridge but on Nov 20, 2006, Todd Bennethum, 45, a Thunder Ridge High School science teacher, was charged with child abuse by causing bodily injury for hitting a child with a yardstick. Sports
Thunder Ridge is a school who is very active in sports and has won 14 state championship titles in a variety of sports since 200http://www1.dcsdk12.org/secondary/trhs/overview/index.htm Thunder Ridge's most focused on team is their football team because they are the ones who have the most wins out of any other sports team at Thunder Ridge. Parents have often complained that the school focuses more on sports than academics and Thunder Ridge has often had low testing scores.
